Search

Search finds documents and PRDs across your organization. Scopingly offers two search surfaces — full-text and semantic — and a toggle to switch between them, so you can look up an exact phrase or find work by meaning.

Two ways to search

Full-text matches the literal text of a document. Semantic search compares meaning, so a query like "reduce checkout drop-off" can surface a PRD titled "cart abandonment improvements" that shares no keywords.

Both modes cover your scope documents and PRDs, and a toggle switches between them in the search panel.

Semantic search availability

Semantic search depends on content having been indexed for meaning. Newly created and updated documents are indexed automatically; results reflect what has been indexed so far.

Scoping and privacy

Search always respects your organization's boundaries and each document's access rules:

• Org-scoped. You only ever see results from your own organization.
• Private PRDs are hidden. A PRD marked private is excluded from both org-wide search surfaces for everyone except its owner, the people tagged on it (collaborators and reviewers), and org admins.
• Immediate. Granting or revoking access to a private PRD changes who can find it right away — visibility is resolved when you search, with no re-indexing delay.

Making a PRD private is a Pro+ feature. Search itself is available on every plan — privacy only affects which PRDs a given person finds. See the feature matrix for what each plan includes.

What search does not surface

• Soft-deleted PRDs never appear in results.
• Documents you don't have access to are filtered out, so search can't be used to discover the existence of restricted content.
